What are Push Campaigns?
Push Campaigns allow you to market directly to customers who have opted in for push notifications from your website. You can send messages promoting sales, product launches, or announcements directly to their device.
Before getting started, note the following limitations:
- Push notifications can be sent to desktop and Android devices but not iOS devices. iOS devices only allow push notifications from native iOS apps.
- Push Campaigns cannot be segmented. They are sent to your entire audience and cannot be targeted to a specific group of users.
Install the service worker
Note: If your store is built on Shopify, installing the service worker is not required.
For Push Campaigns to reach your subscribers, you will need to install a snippet of code under your domain. This installs the Re:amaze service worker, which loads in your customer's browser when they subscribe for push notifications. When you send a Push Campaign, Re:amaze communicates with this service worker to display the notification on the subscriber's device.
The following snippet must be installed on your site under the path /rmzServiceWorker.js and be publicly accessible:
importScripts('https://push.reamaze.com/sdks/rmzServiceWorker.js');
For example, if your domain is https://example.com , the snippet would be accessible at https://example.com/rmzServiceWorker.js .
Build a Push Campaign
Select Push in the left-side navigation menu, then select New Campaign.
If you manage multiple brands, select the brand you want to build the campaign for. Provide your campaign's title, message, primary link, and image URLs. Add text for the button your customers will select and provide the button link.
A preview of your Push Campaign will appear showing how it will look on Windows, Android, and Mac.
Once you are done, you can send the campaign immediately or save it as a draft to send later.
Note: By default, Re:amaze sends push notifications using internal push keys. If you are using the Re:amaze API to save custom VAPID tokens to your users, you will need to set your public and private keys under Settings > Push Keys. Future campaigns will then send using your custom keys.
