Connecting a new email channel is the initial step in setting up your Re:amaze account. However, it doesn't end there – you'll need to set up email forwarding to direct all messages to your Re:amaze inbox.
If you haven't started connecting an email channel, navigate to Settings > Email Channels and click "Add new channel." For existing email channels, select "Connect to external email."
Re:amaze will automatically set up a new mailbox/email address. In the example below, the address generated is "daffy-demo-support@daffydemo.reamaze.com" this address is where your emails will be forwarded to.
- To continue setting up email forwarding, click "Connect my email address."
- Next, provide the email address you want to use for email forwarding. This should be your current support address. Below that, you will see the email address Re:amaze automatically set up for you. You will need this email address for the next step, so copy it and click "Next."
NOTE: You will be able to send and receive emails from this address, however only your support email address will be visible to your customers.
- Before moving forward in Re:amaze, navigate to your Gmail account to set up email forwarding.
- In your Gmail account, click on the gear icon located in the top-right corner of the page to get to your Settings Page. From the dropdown menu, click "See all settings" then click on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- From this tab, click on the "Add a forwarding address" button.
- Paste the Re:amaze address you copied earlier into this field and click "Next."
- You will be prompted to confirm that forwarded mail will go to the address you provided. Click "Proceed" to confirm.
- Once you click "Proceed", Gmail will send a confirmation email that will appear in your Re:amaze inbox.
- Be sure to click "Save Changes" Gmail before heading back into Re:amaze to open this email. If you don't save your changes, the forwarding setup will be unsuccessful.
- Navigate back to your Re:amaze account to locate the confirmation email in your inbox. Open the email and click on the confirmation request link from Gmail.
- After confirming the request from Gmail, head back over to the setup page and click "Yes, I've completed forwarding." You should quickly see a message confirming that email forwarding has successfully been set up.
Troubleshooting
If the email forwarding setup is failing, make sure that your Gmail account settings are set to "forward a copy of incoming mail." If "Disable Forwarding" is selected, the setup process will be unsuccessful.
If you have completed the setup but find that emails are not being forwarded, note emails filtered into Gmail's PROMOTIONS and SOCIAL tabs are considered "soft-spam" and won't be forwarded. To allow all emails to be forwarded to Re:amaze, please this feature off and use only the regular inbox.
